Annual Youth Concert

Over the past several years, Charlotte County has enjoyed the many benefits of the Symphony’s commitment to music education, particularly in engaging young people.  Maestro Ponti’s personal passion for bringing great music into young lives has motivated him to visit every third grade class in Charlotte County with his music and art programs, Musical Chairs events, where the students are invited to sit in the orchestra section of their choice and get an up-close feeling for what it’s like to be in a professional rehearsal.  The icing on the cake for the year is the Annual Youth Concert, where students from all over the county experience a themed classical concert designed just for them.  In recent years, Maestro Ponti expanded his school outreach program, by holding band and choral master classes for all the high schools and middle schools.

The Symphony’s partnership with the Charlotte County Public Schools is largely fueled by the indefatigable  Ellen Harvey, Curriculum and Instruction Specialist for Fine Arts, World Languages, Health and P.E.  She works every year with Maestro Ponti to bring the orchestra to the students and the students to the orchestra, enriching the cultural fabric of Charlotte County.
