Recent Phantoms News!

*The Phantoms Board met in October.  (The September meeting was cancelled because of hurricane Irma.) The next Board Meeting will be held on November 8, 2017 at 10:00.  The meetings are held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at the Charlotte Community Foundation in Punta Gorda.  All Phantoms are invited to the meetings.  If you would like to attend, please contact President Joan a few days ahead:  jfbyron@comcast.net.

*President Joan Byron has been collecting and compiling Phantoms volunteer hours.  Phantoms have worked 833.5 hours since May 1st.

Ongoing Phantoms Information

Fundraising 2017-2018:
*The “Grub Crawl” fundraiser will be held on Tuesday, November 14th from 5-9 PM. Tickets are $20 per person. Eight restaurants are participating this year.  All of the restaurants are on Marion Avenue, for easy walking!  The pick-up table will be located at F.M. Don’s restaurant.  For participants who want to have their tickets ahead of time, there will be a “pre-sale” table located in front of the HipNotique Boutique during the “Alive at 5” event in Punta Gorda on Thursday, October 19th. A short “afterglow party” will be held at F.M. Don’s at 9:00 PM to celebrate this year’s success and to discuss issues for next year’s event. Janet Wilcox is coordinating the Grub Crawl this year.  Please contact Janet if you would like to volunteer, or for more information:  leadninja@icloud.com

*A Sunday Brunch fundraiser will be held again this season.  This year’s brunch will be held on March 11, from 11 AM until 2 PM.  The venue for the Sunday Brunch is Twin Isles Country Club in Punta Gorda. The committee is currently taking suggestions for a theme and a name.  Please feel free to send either to Joan Byron at  jfbyron@comcast.net

*Monthly Composer’s Luncheons will continue throughout this season.  Coordinators for the 2017-2018 luncheons are Barb Berman and Barbara McCarrick.  The next luncheon will be held on Thursday, November 2. During the luncheon, brief remarks and discussion on composer John Williams’  career will be followed by a live performance of a sampling of his works by Judy Kaff on the piano. The luncheons are held at the Punta Gorda Woman’s Club, 118 Sullivan Street, and are open to the public. Reservations are required and may be made by calling the Symphony Office at 941-205-9743.
